Alessandra is a native of Catania, Italy and is in the final year of her PhD in marketing at the University of Catania. She came to Gainesville in August 2011 as a visiting scholar at the University of Florida. She is a also certified accountant. She worked with her father’s business for five years before deciding to follow her interest of marketing and public relations.
“What I most like about working in PR is that I am a very friendly and social person,” Alessandra says. “Talking with people, building networks, creating connections among people is something that I can easily do, since it reflects my personality.”
On her free time, Alessandra enjoys running, skiing, snowboarding, surfing, wake boarding, swimming, scuba diving, hiking and biking. In addition, she enjoys the opera (she sang in the opera for seven years in Italy). Alessandra hopes to secure a job in the U.S. when she completes her PhD in October.
