The FPRA Gainesville Chapter is proud to support local public relations professionals by offering two unique scholarships—the James Terhune Membership Scholarship and the Kim Faenza Membership Scholarship. These scholarships are designed to help PR professionals build their networks, enhance their careers, and take advantage of all the opportunities FPRA membership offers. James Terhune Membership Scholarship

In honor of James Terhune’s dedication to the Florida Public Relations Association throughout his tenure as a University of Florida professor and as the FPRA Gainesville Chapter president in 1985, the FPRA Board of Directors established the James Terhune FPRA Membership Scholarship.

This one-time scholarship is awarded to a public relations professional who graduated from the University of Florida within the last five years. The scholarship covers the cost of FPRA membership dues for one year and the new member processing fee, if required. If there are no other applicants, the scholarship may be awarded to the same recipient more than once.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a public relations professional who graduated from UF within the last 5 years.

Kim Faenza Membership Scholarship

The FPRA Gainesville Chapter is pleased to offer the Kim Faenza Membership Scholarship, which gives a deserving professional from a local nonprofit organization the chance to enhance their career with a one-year FPRA membership.

Kim Faenza, former Director of Communications and Marketing for United Way of North Central Florida, left a lasting legacy through her passion, dedication, and collaborative spirit. This scholarship honors her memory by supporting nonprofit professionals who, like Kim, are committed to making a positive impact in their communities.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a public relations professional working for a local nonprofit organization.
