As a marketing communications specialist at Exactech, Inc., new FPRA Gainesville Chapter member Samantha Jones deals with various aspects of public relations on a day-to-day basis. “I do a lot of internal communications, client relations, sales communication, copywriting and project management,” says Jones.
A native of Ormond Beach, Fla., Jones earned a bachelor’s degree in public relations and a minor in organizational leadership for nonprofits from UF’s College of Journalism and Communications. She enjoys the creative aspects of public relations. Joining FPRA in the fall of 2013 has allowed her to connect with other communications professionals in an array of industries. “I find it really interesting to learn about different communication environments and situations, and how professionals come up with creative solutions.”
When she’s not working, Jones spends her time with friends, cooking, traveling, being outside and trying new restaurants and coffee shops. Jones says her favorite thing about Gainesville is the people. “It’s part of the reason I decided to stay in Gainesville. Over the years, I’ve developed some really great relationships, and I’ve enjoyed making new friends as an Alachua County resident.”
