MaryBeth Head recently rejoined FPRA Gainesville and is the co-owner of Two Head Video, along with her husband, DJ Head. She wears many hats as the producer, writer, and video editor. Her main objective is to help clients define their goals about how they see their video being used, as well has helping them understand creative and effective ways to use their video that they might not have originally considered. She feels her expertise is most valuable when clients may not understand the process or aren’t quite sure how to execute their concept.
Video press releases are just one of the ways that MaryBeth and uses public relations in her job. Most videos are also shared on client’s websites or on social media and are used to increase awareness of their campaigns and causes. Two Head Video is also able to promote their own work by featuring their client’s work on social media channels benefiting both Two Head and their clients.
When asked what she loves most about working in public relations MaryBeth said, “To take a concept, envision the final product, and see it come to life and bring results makes our job very fulfilling. It’s especially gratifying when the work we produce is part of a campaign to raise awareness.” She also enjoys meeting other public relations practitioners through FPRA and learning about the work they are doing.
MaryBeth is a proud graduate of the University of Florida’s School of Journalism and loves living in Gainesville. Her favorite things about town include the quality of life, natural attractions and cultural opportunities, the small town feel and it doesn’t hurt that three of her four children and two grandchildren call Gainesville home, as well.
FPRA members might be surprised to learn that Mary Beth was a location manager in Florida for the movie Doc Hollywood, which was filmed in Micanopy. She was born in Hawaii and grew in several states since her father was in the Air Force but now calls Gainesville home.
