Lindsay Brennan joined FPRA Gainesville in 2008 after finishing the graphic design program at Santa Fe College. She was encouraged to join by one of her professors. Currently, Lindsay is the Marketing Manager for Sandvik Mining, where she is responsible for marketing and public relations for Sandvik’s surface drilling products.
On the public relations side, Lindsay works primarily with industry and trade publications to discuss trends, promote new product development and increase exposure for their strategic partners. Sandvik has been around for more than a century and is one of the largest manufacturers of mining equipment globally, which provides great opportunities for exposure. Recently, Sandvik has been more active on social media in an effort to increase the brand’s engagement and awareness about new product launches, partnerships, and to build relationships with the media.
There are several things that Lindsay enjoys about working in public relations. “I like Public Relations because the tools evolve quickly and the core remains the same,” she said. “As we have greater interaction with our audiences, a public relations program rooted in transparency becomes even more critical.” She also loves learning from the talented members in FPRA and always looks forward to the Professional Development Symposium. Lindsay calls Gainesville home after living here for 13 years and can’t name just one favorite thing about the area because she has so many. Topping her list are Gainesville’s cultural scene, great restaurants and major economic development. In her spare time she enjoys photography and spending time on nearby springs and trails.
