Position: Marketing Coordinator

Local construction, management and real estate company, headquartered in Gainesville, Florida, has an immediate opening for a marketing coordinator with exceptional design skills who will enjoy working independently and creatively.  The ideal candidate will work directly under the company president and will support all sales and marketing staff. 

Primary responsibilities include marketing and public relations campaign coordination, advertising and print collateral design work, copy writing, website design and maintenance, event planning, internal communications, management of multiple electronic newsletters, research and evaluation techniques and community service projects. Position: Associate Director of Programs & Public Relations
The Consortium of Florida Education Foundations - Gainesville, FL

The Associate Director of Programs & Public Relations will assist the Executive Director in the implementation of membership services and programs. Specifically, this position will focus on the following activities: Program Implementation, Public Relations & Communications, Resource Development, Support for Board Development, Event Organization and Office Support.

Qualifications:
  • 5-7 years of communications, fundraising and/or non-profit management experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field

Position: Public Information Officer
Shands Healthcare - Gainesville, FL

Shands HealthCare’s Marketing and Public Relations department seeks qualified candidates for a Public Information Officer position in our Gainesville-based, corporate team. The PIO will serve on the Corporate Communications, Public Relations and Media Relations Team and reports to the assistant director of Marketing and Public Relations.

We need a dynamic and experienced, strategic-thinking communications practitioner who can manage all aspects of our responsive and proactive media relations programs. This individual will develop, implement, measure and assess strategic media relations plans to support department and health system goals. He/she will independently oversee program operations to ensure timely and appropriate news pitching and round-the-clock response to requests from local, regional and national news media. The PIO will work with team members who provide daytime back-up and after-hours assistance but will be expected to handle most daily activities independently. He/she will also take a lead role in issues management and crisis communications as well as healthcare system emergency preparedness planning and response. Last but not least, the PIO will serve as a health system spokesperson and liaison with PIOs from other community and regional agencies. This job also includes responsibility for internal and external communications planning to support Shands’ government relations and legislative-advocacy programs. We need someone who is highly organized, efficient and energetic.  Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written communications skills are required. Job Requirements:
Qualified candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, public relations or a related area and at least three-to-five years of experience coordinating media relations programs and activities, serving as spokesperson and handling issues management, preferably in a healthcare or corporate environment. Commensurate experience may be substituted in lieu of degree. Crisis communications planning experience is a plus. Qualified candidates will have experience providing communications and public relations within a diverse organization. Having worked for a large organization with geographically dispersed facilities and diverse customers is preferred. Requirements include outstanding organizational, planning and verbal and written communication (writing and editing) skills. The position requires strong computer/technical skills to manage media tracking databases and reporting systems. Requires ability to use discretion, good judgment and sound decision-making and problem-solving abilities to effectively manage issues. Must be able to work well with diverse customers, including physicians, corporate executives, healthcare professionals, patients and the general public.
          
Salary:  $46,404.00 - $60,444.00 (Yearly Salary)

Position: Communications Specialist

Stetson University is looking for a part-time, temporary communications specialist. This temporary position will be responsible for writing assignments to include news release, stories for the web, magazine stories and general coverage of university events.  Web assignments could include updating databases, researching and adding calendar items to external sites, posting stories, photos, videotape on university web site and other miscellaneous public relations assignments or duties as assigned.  Candidates for this position must be willing to work flexible hours to cover campus events, including some nights and weekends.

Position: Public Relations Internship

Public Relations Functions: Assists in identifying Emmer brand through marketing materials, maintains customer relations through monthly and yearly survey tools, follows through with Dear Homeowner program for all homebuyers, coordinates community events and drives, designs and maintains bi-monthly employee newsletter, maintains employee communication regarding special events, assists with media relations in pitching stories, writing news releases and tip sheets.  Will perform daily scan of local and national news sources for timely and relative stories.

Internet Communications:   Assists in advertising placement on line, manages the internet lead/sales follow up system in a timely fashion, assists with on-line/web updates.  Will take a lead role with social media campaigns for several Emmer properties. 

Sales:  Assists with realtor relations, promotions and special events, participates in sales and marketing training and educational sessions, assists in linking communication between sales personnel and construction staff/corporate staff.

Research:  Assists with audience research through monthly and year-end customer surveys.  Conducts comparison research within comparable markets.  Monitors industry trends and keeps staff aware of current events.
 
Promotions & Special Events:  Assists with creation and manages distribution of sales kits, assists with merchandising model homes and sales centers, creation and management of direct mail campaigns, facilitation and assistance with special events and projects throughout the year.
 
Overall Operations & Data Maintenance:   Directly responsible for maintaining several databases including MLS data, homeowner survey data.  Maintains several weekly reports involving sales, marketing, financial information, closing information, construction status.  Facilitates communication and correct information between necessary departments.

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection Press Office has an unpaid internship available based in Tallahassee on a semester basis with flexible hours.  This internship allows interns to gain media relations experience through:
  • Writing, editing and proofreading media events such as Cabinet meetings, press conferences and media briefings

  • Updating media distribution lists
